A mental health emergency is as serious as any other emergency. You are not wasting anyone’s time.
As a group, people with ADHD are significantly more likely to experience suicidal thoughts and self-harm, and can live with serious emotional and mental health difficulties. That is not a reason to struggle quietly.

NHS 111 will tell you where to get help, and can put you through to a mental health professional.
Anyone in Scotland, any age

You will be put through to a psychological wellbeing practitioner.
Anyone in Wales
24 hours a day, every day
Anyone in Northern Ireland
24 hours a day, every day. Free to call.
If you think someone is in immediate danger, the fastest way to get help to them is to call 999 and ask for an ambulance.
Samaritans also give advice to people who are worried about someone else. You can call them on 116 123 to talk it through, and their website has guidance on supporting someone with suicidal thoughts.
We are an ADHD assessment and treatment service, not an emergency or crisis service. Our clinic is not staffed around the clock, so we cannot respond to urgent messages outside working hours. If you need help now, please use one of the services above.
