# Innovate ADHD > Innovate ADHD is a UK online ADHD clinic and NHS-commissioned provider (NHS ODS code N6V9E) specialising in adult ADHD assessment, diagnosis, and treatment. Adults registered with an NHS GP in England can be referred to Innovate ADHD at no cost through the NHS Right to Choose pathway, with a current national waiting time of 1-3 weeks for most regions. Content last updated: 23 July 2026. For the most current waiting times and eligibility rules, see the NHS patients page below. ## NHS Right to Choose (free NHS pathway) The NHS Right to Choose gives patients in England the legal right, under the NHS Constitution, to choose their healthcare provider for their first outpatient specialist appointment. Innovate ADHD is approved to provide adult ADHD assessments through this pathway. Key facts: - Cost: assessment and treatment are fully funded by the NHS. No private fees. - Eligibility: aged 18 or over, registered with an NHS GP in England, first specialist appointment for ADHD, and not already receiving elective mental health care for the same condition. Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland have different systems and are not covered. - How to access: ask your GP for an ADHD assessment referral to Innovate ADHD under Right to Choose. Referrals must come from a GP - self-referrals are not accepted on the NHS pathway. A pre-filled referral form for GPs is available at https://innovateadhd.com/nhs-patients - Waiting time: currently 1-3 weeks nationally, except where local commissioners have imposed limits. Patients whose GP practice is in the following ICBs should expect a longer wait: Greater Manchester; Norfolk and Suffolk; West and North London; Black Country; Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland; Lincolnshire; Lancashire and South Cumbria; Hampshire and Isle of Wight; West Yorkshire; Kent and Medway (for referrals received after 24 July 2026). NHS West Yorkshire ICB requires a minimum waiting time of two years from the referral date for ADHD and autism assessments; the commissioner has required all providers to apply this minimum waiting time, and Innovate ADHD is still awaiting further clarity from the ICB as the details of how it will be applied are still being determined. Your ICB is determined by your GP practice's address, not your home address. - Assessment format: remote video consultations with a Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT), across multiple appointments, following NICE guidelines and DSM-5 criteria using validated tools such as DIVA-5 and ASRS. Face-to-face appointments are arranged where clinically necessary. - Medication: under the NHS service specification, the medication pathway can begin no earlier than 3 months after diagnosis. Prescriptions issued through Right to Choose are NHS prescriptions, subject only to standard NHS prescription charges (or free with a valid exemption). - Shared care: supported, but accepting shared care is the GP's decision. If a GP declines shared care, Innovate ADHD continues the patient's prescription. - Existing diagnoses: a prior NHS or Right to Choose diagnosis does not require reassessment. A UK private diagnosis requires a shorter validation assessment before NHS treatment can begin. A diagnosis obtained abroad requires a full reassessment. Child-to-adult transitions and diagnoses under older criteria (e.g. DSM-IV) require a brief clinical review. - Patients on another provider's waiting list must be discharged from that list before their GP can send a new Right to Choose referral. ## Private services (self-referral, no GP needed) - ADHD screening: £99 - 15-minute specialist consultation with a written screening report and guidance on next steps. - Full diagnostic assessment: £995 - comprehensive adult ADHD assessment (ages 18-65). - Treatment plan: £850 - 12 months of treatment including medication titration. - Full package (assessment + treatment): £1750. If the assessment does not result in an ADHD diagnosis, only the assessment portion is charged and the difference is refunded. ## Key pages - [NHS Right to Choose ADHD assessment](https://innovateadhd.com/nhs-patients): eligibility criteria, current waiting times, referral form download, how the process works, and detailed FAQ - [Pricing](https://innovateadhd.com/pricing): private assessment and treatment costs, package comparison, payment FAQ - [What is ADHD?](https://innovateadhd.com/what-is-adhd): adult ADHD symptoms, diagnosis, and treatment guide - [£99 screening offer](https://innovateadhd.com/screening-offer): affordable initial ADHD screening - [About our service and team](https://innovateadhd.com/service): clinical team, approach, and accreditations - [Home](https://innovateadhd.com/): service overview and contact details Patient information is available in 17 languages, including Chinese (https://innovateadhd.com/zh), Polish, Romanian, Punjabi, Urdu, Portuguese, Spanish, Arabic, Bengali, Gujarati, Italian, German, French, Russian, and Estonian.
